Where is Fem, and where are her famed blog posts?

As I haven't had much by way of Actual News to post lately, I interviewed myself.

Is life boring in Chula Vista boring?
Only according to Forbe's Magazine. Not, like, a reputable source.

So yeah?
Okay... but let me say "repetitive." I am, after all, still living the dream.

What was your favorite workout of the week?
I particularly enjoyed today's Nearly-Twenty-Kilometers. It was 75 degrees and sunny- my first bikini paddling day of the year- and even though the cumulative fatigue from this week (weak?!) has nearly wrecked us, we fought fatigue for one last on-water session. Advantage: USA girls

What did you do this afternoon?
After completing two workouts and a chiropractor appointment, I laid in bed trying to work up motivation to get in the shower. After showering, I sat on my computer working up motivation to go outside and enjoy the gorgeous weather. Advantage: Fatigue

What was the best thing that happened to you this week?
My mom sent me a package containing many random things.

Can you give an example of the random things?
An enormous bag of Easter-themed sprinkles, a box of Wegman's Bran Flakes, and a salmon-colored bath mat with a post-it attached that reads "This is a bath mat."

Looking forward, what is your vision?
World peace. True love. And constant improvement.

Tour of California

Tyler and I drove up to Pasadena for the weekend to see the Tour of California's penultimate stage. It finished with 5 laps of a crit-style course around the Rose Bowl stadium, which I found to be extremely exciting.

Testing Week

It's Friday, which means the end of testing week!

My specific results:

Weighted Pull-ups: 8% increase in weight
Max bench-pull: 9% increase in weight
Max number of pull-ups: 9% increase

So, paired with a 2% decrease in body weight, I am officially stronger and fitter than I was in November.

Snow!

I spent the weekend in Clairemont, Caifornia (east of Los Angeles) for some much-needed Recharge-the-Batteries-By-Playing-in-the-Snow time. There is a ski lift atop Mt. Baldy, hiking trails, waterfalls, pine trees, craggy cliffs and dozens of switchbacks. Mountains and snow at 10,000 feet + sun dresses and orange trees at sea level= everything that I could ever want in life and more.

Driving up the mountain...cacti and snow

The city of Whoville [Clairemont] far below the gorgeous mountains

The one totally bizarre thing that Californians do is they fill up their trucks with snow before leaving the ski area.

Then they drive down the mountain with snow on the roofs of their cars. This is a ritual that I do not understand.
